Chamber Committees are set up to engage you and your business in making business better.  What are the Chamber Committees, Councils and Programs? Where do I sign up? Open to Chamber members and their staff.

Ambassadors Rock! 

Ambassadors are a group of enthusiastic volunteers who offer support at various Chamber functions, build member engagement and raise awareness of Chamber activities and benefits. Ambassadors grow professionally and personally by building business relationships within the community. Ambassadors serve as the first point of contact for new members and Being an Ambassador is a fun and rewarding opportunity for you and your business. The Ambassadors serve as the first point of contact for new members and businesses in the community. They meet and greet new members, participate in ribbon cutting ceremonies, and serve at organization functions. You must be a Chamber member for six months prior to applying. 

Governmental Affairs

The Governmental Affairs committee is tasked with providing the Livingston Parish business community point of view through the collective action of the Chamber.  Issues that are specific to Livingston Parish at the local, state and federal issue are discussed.  Members of the committee must have the authority to make decisions on behalf of their business and / or industry.  The program meets on the 3rd Thursday at 8:00 a.m.

Small Business Council

Small, Independent business owners are who formed the chamber and the primary reason we exist today.  Independent businesses need an organization to collaborate through and the chamber offers that vechicle.  The Small Business Council is an opportunity for businesses to meet with other like minded business owners to talk out everything from what works to the challenges of running a small business.  Everything from policy to training to best practices and open discussion are included.  The Council helps to keep issues that are pertinent to business at the top of the agenda with solutions to address those challengs.  For more information, visit the Small Business Council here. 

Livingston Young Professionals Leadership Council

Livingston Young Professionals is for 21 - 40 year old young professionals who want to get involved in their community, collaborate with other young professionals, and develop leadership skills through fun & productive activities.  The Livingston Young Professional program has as high as 80 members.  Council Members are comprised of members who help to advance the program and engage members of LYP through communications, events and community service.  Dedication to the program's development is a requirement to serve on the Council. Women's Leadership Council | Committee

Women have a different challenges when it comes to leadership in the workplace and community.  In 2017, we started the Women's Leadership Special Event as a catalyst to the council.  The purpose is to provide an opportunity to address issues specific to women.  In addition, the opportunity to recognize outstanding professional women and their role in a flourishing economy and community initiatives.

Education Committee | Business and Education Partnership

The Chamber partners with the school system in programs that prepare students for quality employment. The importance of interaction and collaboration between the business community and the school system is a top consideration of the Chamber's Annual Business Plan. Committee members are tasked with the Annual Student Leadership Conference, enhancing soft skills, work readiness and visits with mentoring business professionals.  We encourage you to attend a committee meeting and / or visit the Chamber's Education Committee page here.

Events Committee

Only the best will do!!!  The Chamber's goal is to provide members with professional and well managed events offering opportunities for sponsorship, showcasing their business, connecting with other business all while enjoying fun and fellowship.  Task force committees are designed to complete a task or event and meet until the project is complete.  The following is a list of those committees:

Gala Committee

Typically held in February, the Chamber’s Annual Gala has grown into one of the premier events in the parish.  Elected officials, local businesses and sponsors quickly reserve their table for this festive event.  The Gala Committee hosts the reception reviewing locations, bands, menus and other festive options for a memorable evening.  Members who enjoy the fun and excitement of hosting a gala should consider signing up for this committee.  

Golf Committee

The BEST GOLF TOURNAMENT IN THE PARISH, that's what you told us!  Want to help take it to the next level?  Sign on the be a part of the Annual Golf Tournament.  

Business & Community EXPO Committee

OVER 100 vendors each year make this one of the best in the region!  The Business Expo has quickly generated an excitement and interest that let's us know its time has come!
