Business Advocacy Events Calendar
Started in 2021 to move from one sided talks to candid and open conversations. Business / industry representatives present on their issues alongside with an invited publicly funded representative. The events are set to take place quarterly.
Legislative Update
Opportunities to gather and hear from others on the state issues which impact your business. Held annually as a breakfast typically in conjunction with the State Chamber of Commerce, LABI - Louisiana Association of Business & Industry.
State level also includes meeting with our state delegation to discuss issues and bills sponsored. Education, Infrastructure, Taxes, continue to be high priority items.
DC Flyin
Since 2016, the Livingston Parish Chamber has joined the extensive number of chambers in the country the represent their geographic areas in Washington DC. The Chamber meets on a regular basis with federal level officials as the voice of business in Livingston Parish. Following the flood, the Chamber was proactive in bringing to attention those challenges which impacted the independent business owner. This continues to be a priority in 2017, 2018 and beyond.

Political Forums
Held during election cycles, the chamber invites candidates to participate in political forums which promotes an informed voter base. Chamber across the country are engaged in the voter process and encourage civic activity. The most recent forums held were for the 6th Congressional District between now Congressman Garrett Graves and Candidate Edwin Edwards. The Chamber recently hosted a Parish Council Forum which consisted of 21 of the 23 candidates for Parish Council in the October election.
