Award Winning Chamber

Livingston Parish's Chamber is a winner of state wide awards and, since 2012, has been named the Louisiana State Chamber of the Year in its respective category three times, in 2012, 2015 and is the current winner for 2018 - 2019.  The Chamber has also been awarded national and state scholarships.  The latest state wide award for the Chamber was being named the inaugural winner of Economic Development Partner Award by LABI, the state chamber of commerce.  The basis for the award is the representation of our business community particularly through the Great Flood of 2016.  The Chamber's location also suffered considerable damage from flood waters and remained dedicated to our business community.

In addition, the Livingston Parish Chamber was recognized in an international chamber publication, Chamber Executive Magazine, and recently nominated for an international Communication Excellence Award.  The out come of that nomination will be finalized in July.

 

CEO leadership awards.  April has been with the Chamber since April of 2011.  Under April's leadership, the Chamber has been awarded the Louisiana State Chamber of the Year in 2013 and 2015.  The Chamber also purchased and located to its first permanent headquarters.
April earned the industry certification of IOM from the US Chamber of Commerce.  She was awarded scholarships through the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Board of Regents, the Louisiana Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives, the United State Institute Instructor Scholarship and LABI.  Other Chamber professional development includes Centers for Chamber of Commerce Excellence year one and two training. Economics Development Certification Course.

2017 - International and National Communications Award for the Back 2 Biz Campaign following the flood of 2016.  Became a Louisiana State Acr

2016 - Inaugural State Economic Development Award for dedication and work for our business community following the flood of 2016. Chaird teh Louisiana State Association.  Leads our chamber and community through the Great Flood of 2016.   Chamber building flooded.

2015 - Finalized move to the new building headquarters on Veterans Blvd. Launched Livingston Young Professionals

2014 - Livingston Chamber president announced as president of the Louisiana Chambers State Association.

2013 - Livingston Chamber reaches a Milestone 500 Members & Chamber purchases its own headquarter on Veterans Blvd for the time in history.  
Before the end of 2013, the Chamber had reached a new and important milestone - over 500 members, showing the forward thinking, progressive and inclusive opportunities of engaging business and community through chamber membership.

Winners are chosen based on 3 areas : Business Development | Chamber Professional Development | Community Development  In all three areas the Livingston Parish Chamber scored highly garnering its first ever win of a state wide chamber organization award!  Proud times - and from there the growth and organization continued on an upward path.
